# Rate Card

Set and manage Task and Cost rates for all Billing Tiers in one place to ensure consistent, personalised pricing across your agency.

The Rate Card supplies starting prices for Job Costing, Estimates and Invoices. Task Types hold hourly rates for Billing Tiers; Cost Types hold Supplier prices, markup and defaults. On Tasks, use **Show rates for** to inspect a tier’s currency and rates, then **Bulk edit rates** to preview individual or fixed/percentage changes before **Save all**. The Task Types guide explains rounding, scope and partial failures.

Because Agencydesk was built exclusively for agencies, pricing is treated as core operational infrastructure rather than a separate spreadsheet. Rate consistency is enforced at the source instead of being someone's monthly reconciliation task, which is one of the structural differences between running your agency in Agencydesk and running it in a general project management tool.

## Import or update the Rate Card

On Tasks or Costs, use **Download as Excel** to get the current records or **Import or Update** to open the import wizard. Keep the IDs when changing existing rows. The Check step previews each change before saving. See [Task Types](/company-settings/rate-card/task-types.md) or [Cost Types](/company-settings/rate-card/cost-types.md) for the required fields.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.agencydesk.io/company-settings/rate-card.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
